We’re here to ease the complexities of moving, hiring and expanding in the Netherlands. Our onboarding process is a key part of this. Learn how we set new partners up here at Employor.

The Onboarding Process

Delivery checklist

Delivery checklist

To start our onboarding process we will send you a checklist. The checklist contains a list of documents and questions we require to draft up the contracts. Once you send us the filled out checklist and the requested documents, we will start drafting the contracts.

The contracts are drafted based on the information within the checklist. We take a maximum of 3 working days to draft up the contracts. Please let us know in case you require the contracts on short notice as we will then make sure to complete the draft contracts as soon as possible. Once finished, we will send them for your feedback. After you give your approval, we will send the contracts to be signed by you and your employee

After we receive the signed contracts, we can start the application procedure for a work and residency permit. We send the fully signed contracts to your immigration lawyer, who will then send out the application to the Dutch Immigration Office (IND). It usually takes the IND 2 to 3 weeks to make their decision.

Visa requirements

As the employee will live and work in the Netherlands for a period longer than 90 days, they need to have a visa prior to arriving in the Netherlands. After the IND has approved the application, your employee can collect their visa at the Dutch embassy in their country of residence. After your Employee collects their visa, they can travel to the Netherlands. Not everyone needs a visa to travel to the Netherlands. Please check this page link to check whether your employee requires a visa.

The employee will need to make an appointment to collect their permit at an IND office. If the permit cannot be collected within 4 months, the employee must collect a sticker in the meantime. This sticker will allow the employee to continue working in the Netherlands.

Relocation

Your employee can start to work through our payroll after they have relocated to the Netherlands. Once the employee has relocated, they must make an appointment to register at their municipality. During this appointment the employee will receive their BSN which is the Dutch social security number. Also, the employee must have a Dutch health insurance within 4 months of their arrival in the Netherlands.
